Antonius Gains Big Edge in Durrrr Challenge After
a close back and forth race over 13,246 hands play, Patrik Antonius
has surged ahead in a major way in the Durrrr Challenge.
Antonius won 328,470$ in a very short session, to increase
his lead to a total of 488,133$. Dwan lost a couple
of pots very early in the 300 hand session which cost him 150,000$.
Only one big hand went Dwan's way, when he drew pocket
Aces to Antonius' pocket Kings, which saved Dwan 176,000$.
This was not nearly enough to get Dwan back to even.
Near the end of the session Dwan disconnected from the Internet two
times, and eventually told Antonius he would have to quit.
Dwan
continues to struggle in 2009, where his losses come to about 2.5
million, not including the Durrrr challenge. Many
posts are going out on Forums across the internet
exclaiming doubts about weather or not Dwan will have two cents to
his name at the end of the year-others are calling his challenge
arrogant and stating that these are his just deserts.
For those who don't know, if Dwan doesn't turn his play
around in the Durrrr challenge by the end of 50,000 hands, he will have
to fork over an extra 1.5 million dollars to Antonius.
