Patrik Antonius began making
a name for himself in poker in 2005, when he
finished in the money in three WSOP events. Again in 2005 he made the European World Poker Tour
final table in Barcelona, finishing 3rd place.
The next month he won the EPT big even in Baden Bei
Wien, a prize worth almost 300,000 Euros. In
December 2005, just a month later he finished
second in the WPT Five Diamond Classic to win a
prize of 1,046,000$.
In 2006 Antonius placed
9th in the WSOP HORSE event for a cash prize of
205,000$. In 2007 his biggest cash prize was
in the World Series Omaha PL Event, placing 3rd for
311,000$. At the end of 2008 Antonius' live
tournament winnings exceeded 2.8 million dollars.
He has also won some high profile online tournaments such as Full Tilt Poker's heads-up PL Omaha Championship, where he took a prize worth 320,000$.
Antonius is one the most successful cash
players to date, having won millions of dollars.
He has also made numerous appearances on NBC's Poker After
Dark, finishing runner up in his first appearance
to Jennifer Harman, beating Brad Booth to take
victory in his second, and again finishing runner up in his third appearance, to poker legend Johnny Chan.
In 2009 Antonius answered Tom Dwan's Million
Dollar Heads-Up Challenge, which is currently being
played out a Full Tilt Poker. It has been a close back
and forth match up so far, though Antonius is
currently ahead by a little more than 150,000$ after having
played 12,000+ hands out of 50,000. Please check the Full Tilt Site for further details.
