Vanessa Rousso was born in White Plains, New York,
but grew up in France until the age of 10.  She retains
a duel US and French citizenship.  At the age of 10
Rousso returned to the US, where she graduated as
her high school valedictorian, holding a perfect 4.0
GPA, and went on to graduate Duke University with
a BA in economics in 2.5 years.  Rousso's high

     Against Drunk Driving.

Rousso started playing poker online before she was old enough to play in the casinos.
In 2004, at the age of 21, living in Miami, she began playing sit and goes at the Hard
Rock Hotel and Casino, and began to build her bankroll that way.  Her first
professional win came in 2005, in Las Vegas, at the WSOP Ladies 1,000$ NL
tournament, in which she finished 45th out of a field of over 600.  In 2006 she placed
fifth in the WSOP 1,500$ NL Poker event at Harrah's, in Atlantic City.  At the time this
made her the youngest female to ever make a final table at WSOP circuit event.
Later in 2006 she had her first big money win, placing 7th at the WPT 25,000$ NL
championship event, for a prize of 261,000$.  In 2007 she placed 2nd in the World
Championship of Online Poker Main Event, earning a little over 700,000$.

Recently Rousso has had two big wins.  The first was a second place finish to Huck
Seed at the National Head's Up Championship, in which she defeated Doyle Brunson,
Phil Ivey, Paul Wasicka, and Danielle Negreanu to get there, an amazing feat.  Then
in May 2009 she won the Monte Carlo High Rollers for a 1st prize of 740,000$.
